In 1980 the Good Sam Club adopted DFD as its official charity.
- Good Sam members put on a variety of fund raising events and work very hard, using their energy and enthusiasm to help these unique dogs and special people
- Good Sam members conduct many in-home interviews of applicants for dogs, saving Dogs for the Deaf a considerable amount of time and money.
- As Good Sammers travel and meet new people, they spread the word of the wonderful service provided by Dogs for the Deaf. This has been an immense help in increasing our network of applicants and donors.
We want all Good Sam members to know how important their support is to the success of our mission of saving dogs and helping people and how much we appreciate their hard work. Good Sammers, with their dedication to helping others, are making a miraculous difference in the lives of both people and dogs by supporting Dogs for the Deaf, Inc.
Good Sam Raffle Raised $699!
The Caldwell Ramblers Chapter of the Idaho Good Sam raffled off a queen size quilt made by member, Mary Sedlar. They raised $699 for the quilt, all of which was donated to Dogs for the Deaf. The winner, Connie Hanson, was drawn during their State Good Sam Fall Roundup in Cottonwood, Idaho in September 2014.

“I’m writing to thank the SAMMAMISH SAMS for sponsoring my 2nd Hearing Dog. I had my 1st one for 13 years.
I’m 82 years old and my wife and I live in Texas and come to Washington State each year to visit with our children (4), grandchildren (14), and great-grandchildren (8). I lost my hearing in the Air Force in 1958 around jets.
Again, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you.
Keep up the good work.”

David D., Washington State Good Sam Coordinator, and his brother Darrell visited us and camped in the parking lot while also doing a little sightseeing in southern Oregon. While here, Dave met with Robin Dickson and Kimberly Miller and presented Dogs for the Deaf with donations totaling $11,000.00! He also brought things to help care for the dogs and a variety of items we can use for fundraising.
