APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED NATIONWIDE for DFD's MIRACLE MUTT PROGRAM

(In addition to Hearing Dogs and Autism Assistance Dogs, DFD places Miracle Mutts)

Imagine what it would be like to try to get through each day with anxiety or panic attacks, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, the effects of a stroke, or a variety of other challenges.

Imagine what it would mean to have something in your life that helped. Imagine what that gift would mean to you, to your family, and to your friends. And, imagine that that gift is a lovable, furry companion who was rescued from a shelter and then trained to help make your struggles and challenges much easier to deal with.

Miracle Mutts (Special Dogs for Special People) are ready to help.

One of our Miracle Mutts can literally give someone a reason to live, a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to do rehabilitation, walking, and exercising. Miracle Mutts make the days brighter and meet a variety of special needs with their unconditional love, companionship, and training. These dogs make the people feel needed and loved, thus increasing physical, mental, and emotional health.

These special dogs are placed nationwide free of charge by Dogs for the Deaf, Inc., a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

Would you or someone you know be helped by a Miracle Mutt? To find out more about our Miracle Mutt program, call DFD at (541) 826-9220 or send us an e-mail. To apply for one of our Miracle Mutts (Special Dogs for Special People) click HERE.

Miracle Mutts (Special Dogs for Special People) are wonderful, loving dogs who can provide companionship, motivation, and emotional support to people who need a "helping paw." While not suited to being working Assistance Dogs, after veterinary care, some training, and confidence building, these dogs are placed with adults and children who have a physical, mental, or emotional need that can be helped with a loving pet or companion. These needs might include PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder),  anxiety and panic attacks, depression, loneliness, stroke, or mental or emotional challenges. Miracle Mutts provide a reason to get up in the morning, motivation to exercise, and they generally make life worth living. Miracle Mutts do not have public access rights.
