Dogs for the Deaf is proud to announce we’ve been selected as a finalist in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Program. On October 4th five charities, including Dogs for the Deaf, will be competing to win one of two new Toyota vehicles.
Now we need YOUR support! Here's how you can help:
Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program will award 100 vehicles over the course of 50 days to 100 deserving nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public. Winning organizations will use the Toyota vehicles to help expand their reach and missions within their communities.
Dogs for the Deaf would use the vehicle we win to rescue dogs from shelters and bring them to our facility. It will also be used to transport dogs and equipment during training. Dogs need a lot of practice in working and staying calm but alert in public situations like shopping centers, airports, offices, and such. This vehicle will take dogs, trainers and equipment to training trips. It will also allow us to take dogs to the vet when they need it. Finally, this vehicle will be used to make placement trips when a dog finally goes to meet it's human partner and settle into their forever home.
Right now, all of our vehicles are too small and very old. A new, reliable vehicle will make a world of difference in helping us do our work of rescuing dogs and helping people.
Please support Dogs for the Deaf on October 4, 2013. Voting will take place at www.100carsforgood.com.
