Each summer, Alexandria, owner of Red Square Boutique in San Mateo, California, puts on a sewing lessons camp for kids. This past summer, she had the camp participants make dog beds for the dogs at Dogs for the Deaf.
Alexandria believes in being “green” so most of the materials used for the dog beds are repurposed from something else. She provided all of the materials for the beds and the kids provided all of the sewing, imagination, and creativity. Altogether the kids made ELEVEN colorful, comfortable, stylish doggie beds, along with some braided tug toys. Each item was made with obvious love and care.
Pam H., Alexandria’s friend and DFD Volunteer Ambassador, enlisted the help of relatives Jack and Cherie H. to get the beds to DFD. The dog beds “hitched a ride” with them during a trip from the Bay Area to their home in Oregon.
Thank you Alexandria, Pam, Jack and Cherie and, most especially, the Wooftastic kids of Camp Couture!
