Some of our dogs find kennel life stressful; that’s where our Foster Families come in! Foster Families provide a home and lots of love to a dog in training. This is a great opportunity if you live close to the Dogs for the Deaf facility.

Volunteer opportunities where YOU live! We are seeking volunteers that would like to help promote Dogs for the Deaf through fund-raising events, promotions, festivals, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Ambassadors serve as representatives of Dogs for the Deaf in their local areas. They give presentations to a variety of groups, telling them about our special work. Ambassadors are entrusted with the responsibility of representing Dogs for the Deaf in a professional manner and raising the awareness of our mission and programs. Ambassadors must be very comfortable with public speaking. If you apply and are selected, we will provide you with a DVD to show, promotional information to hand out, and a presentation format. If you are interested in becoming a Dogs for the Deaf Ambassador, please contact us for an application.
Nationwide Opportunities for Volunteer Interview Persons (VIP) – contact Emily HERE
Dogs for the Deaf relies on volunteer interviewers throughout the United States to interview potential clients who have applied for one of our special dogs. This is an ideal opportunity for people who’d love to volunteer but do not live close to the DFD facility.
